Wes, Rob and I went for an abbreviated workout today. It was better than not going at all. Today’s workout included:
  • Bench press: 3 sets/10 reps (3 sets - 130 lbs)
  • Fly (machine): 3 sets/10 reps, 70 lbs (10 sec hold on 10th rep)
  • Back Extensions (machine): 3 sets/12 reps, 120 lbs
  • Tricep Extensions (rope): 3 sets/10 reps, 50 lbs
  • Leg Raises (Roman Chair): 2 sets/20 reps

I tried my first max bench press today. I can't believe at my age I've never tried this before. Rob thought I best start light at 150. Felt good so I went up to 185. I think that is a good starting point for me. Then Rob put me in my place and tried 300 pounds. He was successful in getting the bar off his chest, but that was about it. He dropped back down to 250 pounds; no worries.

Today’s pre-workout weight: 226.0 pounds. Post-workout weight: 225.3 pounds. If I could get that down into the 180's that would be great.
